$400K Camaro Sold at Auction

There are only two COPO Camaro's in the world, one of them on display at the GM Heritage Center where it will stay for the rest of forever. The second one was just sold this past weekend at the famous Barrett-Jackson auctions in Scottsdale, Arizona. The lucky seller made quite a bit of bank seeing that he got $400,000 off of it. 

Hiding under the hood of this bad boy is a 327-cu V8 engine with a 4 liter supercharger. The combined horsepower is a whopping 550 and mated to a three-speed Powerglide slushbox. A beauty to behold in one lucky persons garage.

Thanks to the many supporters of new tiny compact cars, Chevrolet made it's most successful one yet as the Sonic rolls off of assembly lines into the public. 

GM has faced bankruptcy again and again but keeps coming back better every time. With more powerful engines, better fuel economic standards, and safer driving conditions, no wonder so many people are picking these over Hummers and Lincoln Continentals.

Hurricane Sandy increases demand for new cars

Super-storm Sandy gave an xtra boost to strong auto sales last month. Companies including Toyota and Chrysler posted impressive increase from last year. Even though Americans were already willing to buy a new car for confidence in the economy. 

The storm added 20,000 - 30,000 sales industry wide in November, mostly from people who already wanted to buy cars in October. People who need to replace storm damaged cars are expected to run the companies itself for several more months alone. About 50 - 100 thousand will need to be replaced.
